This fall's hot trend is feathers and we're going all out with them in this glam Halloween decoration idea. With just a few store brought supplies we created a simple, yet glamourous glittered feather wreath that's spooky enough to earn a spot on your mantle.
Most of these supplies are easy to get and relatively cheap. Definitely peek around your local craft store to find glittered Halloween embellishments that fit the look you're aiming to get out of your wreath.
If you want to recreate our wreath exactly, here's what you need to know.
Supplies
black feather wreath (buy it or make it)
purple glittered feathers
little glitter embellished owl
hot glue gun
Directions
Step 1: Start with the wreath itself. You can most likely find a feathered wreath at your craft store, but if you're having trouble getting your hands on one, you can also make it. Simply cover a foam wreath with black fabric. Then, arrange black feathers in a consistent pattern around the wreath and attach with a hot glue gun.
Make sure all your feathers point in the same direction. It's easiest to start on the outside and work your way in. This will create the consistent layered look you're aiming to make.
Step 2: Using a glue gun, intersperse and attach your glittered leaves. This will add pops of color and break up the solid black.
Step 3: Once feathers are set, add on your embellishments. We decorated our Halloween wreath with a single owl - it hads just enough Halloween spookiness without making the wreath feel overly decorated.
TIP: Don't hang your feathered Halloween wreath outdoors. It's not meant to stand up to the cooler, harsher weather!
