The Fleur de Lis fold looks daunting, but once you understand the folding it is actually quite simple. The best part is, it will definitely impress your guests. The Fleur de Lis looks great when placed in a champagne, wine, or stemmed water glass. You can also create the fleur de lis fold and place it in a napkin ring to hold it, but this fold does not stay up on its own.
1. Fold the napkin into a triangle, with the point of the pyramid facing towards you.
2. Fold up the bottom edges of the napkin (the point) up and over the long edge of the triangle so the point is now 1-2" higher than the inverted base of the triangle.
3. Fold the napkin like an accordion, starting at the left corner and moving to the right. Press down the pleats to keep them tight.
4. Holding onto either side of the napkin to keep the pleats in tact, lift it up (with the point facing up) and place it into a glass or napkin ring. When you let go of the napkin, the ends should fan out into a fleur-de-lis shape.
