Thanksgiving Decor: Natural Votive Holders

Natural elements add a sophisticated harvest feel to your Thanksgiving table. While we love the idea of scattering mini pumpkins and gourds about the center, we're really liking this crafty votive idea.

Here, we used apples to craft natural votives for a fall table, but you could certainly recreate this look with mini pumpkins.

Supplies

apples
votive candles
paring knife
Vaseline (if making day in advance)

Directions

Run your paring knife around the top part of the apple, around the stem. The idea is to create a shallow resting place for your candle to sit.

Next, if you want, apply a thin layer of Vaseline onto the opening on the apple - this will prevent it from turning brown.

Finally, place your votive candle in the hole and light it when you're ready to feast!
