Spring and summertime mean ditching the deeper, muted colors of winter and opting for brighter, bolder colors that reflect the warmth and vitality outside, inside.
Transitioning you party table from winter into spring can be as simple as swapping out old linens for fresh new ones, or slipping a bloom or two into your table’s place settings.
There’s no need to spend a pretty penny on fancy napkins and placemats, instead why not spruce up some plain linens with a few supplies found at your local craft store? Perfect for spring brunches, baby showers or anytime a little splash of color will go a long, long way!
Supplies
Plain white poly-cotton napkins
Cardstock
Fabric markers or paint
1/2” hole punch
Directions
Punch holes into small squares of cardstock to create a stencil for your polka dots. You’ll want to make one stencil for each color marker or paint that you use, since the colors tend to get onto the stencil, and you don’t want them to mix.

Iron out any creases in napkins and spread them out on a clean, flat surface. Use your stencil to trace dots all over the fabric until you’ve reached your desired effect. You may place the dots in any pattern you like, but I find random placement gives the napkins a more whimsical look.
