DIY Gift Wrap Project

Dec 10, 2009

Creating your own Christmas wrapping paper is a fun Christmas craft idea. Have your kids help dress up plain wrapping paper with a little finger painting.

Supplies

one roll of plain white wrapping paper or art paper, or brown bags
colored washable paints
sponge stamps, paint brushes
cups with water
scissors
double-sided tape
paper towels
newspapers (keeps clean up easy)

Directions

Step 1: Cut paper large enough to wrap your gift or gifts. If you are wrapping smaller gifts consider using small brown paper bags to make wrapping even easier.

Step 2: Spread newspaper over your work surface then pour the paints into separate plastic containers.

Step 3: Lay the paper down and let the kids get to work dipping their fingers, brushes and stamps into the paint and then creating their masterpieces! Let dry completely before wrapping your gifts.

Tag: While the kids are painting the gift wrap, have them decorate a standard office supply tag (which you can buy in bulk) and then sign their name!
