Two words: "Bouncer Games". There are many games that can be played in an ordinary inflatable bouncer. Here's the list:
Drop, Plop & Flop - With no more that 6 kids in a standard large bouncer, assign 3 to be the "droppers" and 3 to be the "floppers". The floppers should spread out and lay flat on their backs. Then, the droppers on the count of 3 will jump up as high as they can, then land (plop down) sending the floppers into the air. The floppers then try to turn over in mid air onto their stomachs or onto their backs if they're a pro! After 3 drop & flops, the teams switch roles. For added competitiveness, assign 1 point for a 1/2 flop, and 2 points for a full flop. The winners get a prize or treat.
Bounce Like a... - Tell the children that every time you count 1-2-3 then yell out an animal, they have to jump like that animal. Try frog, kangaroo, rabbit, then see what happens when you call out lizard, bird, elephant, fish and snail!!
The Giggle Game - Have one child lie down in one corner of the bouncer, then have the next child lay down at right angles to the first child with his/her head on the first child's stomach. Have a third child lay down with his/her head on the second child's stomach. Keep on until everyone is lying down. Then have the first child say "HA". This will cause the second child to start laughing then the third, then so on. You may have played this one before, but not in a bouncer!
Balloon Fun - Grab some balloons and toss them in the bouncer with the kids. They can bounce with them and toss them into the air.
Red Light / Green Light - When you yell "green light", everyone bounces. When you yell "red light", everyone freezes.
Tumble Races - Have the children take turns with this one. Line up 4 kids on one side of the bouncer and when you say "GO", they somersault their way to the other side, touch the wall (or netting) and then lay down and roll back to the other side. Make sure the somersaults are on the floor and NOT in the air!
Order a bouncer from your local bounce provider. Be sure they are insured and have a record of reliability and professionalism. You can check the Better Business Bureau for any complaints, or Yelp.com, Insiderpages.com or other review sites.Plan to have one adult to conduct the games with the kids at the party. Most of all, have fun and be safe! These games will liven up the party and keep the kids interacting with each other. It also provides an opportunity for one of the parents to bond with the group.
