Gift Certificate Ideas

Listed below are some of my favorite gift certificates that are sure to be a success with guests as well as a hostess! 

• Calligraphy: For someone who plans a ton of parties, giving a new resource is always appreciated. Jillian Yee-Pham and Bernard Maisner are two of our favorites. 

• A Visit to a Salon: Send a gift certificate for hair and makeup or for a visit to a day spa at a place like Frederic Fekkai, Oribe, John Barrett, Oscar Blandi, the Four Seasons, Cornelia day spa, or any place equally fabulous in your hometown. Just be sure to send the certificate beforehand so the host can indulge prior to the big event.
• Private Training: If you host loves working out, then give them a private training session at the gym. Other ideas include a gift certificate for yoga, spinning, or kickboxing class.

• Record Store: If your host is less technically inclined or into deejaying, give them a great set of CDs. If you’re not sure of their taste, opt for a gift certificate from a record store so they can choose their own CDs or vinyl records.

• Bucks for Books: If your host already has an extensive library, help them add to their collection with a gift card for a local bookstore or a nation chain like Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble. This way they can splurge on any set of books they desire.

• Cater to Their Whims: Again, for someone who throws a lot of parties, a gift certificate for catering is a thoughtful gesture. Not only does it introduce them to a new resource, but it also allows them to splurge on flowers or invites at their next get-together.

• Movie Night: A great gift for a movie buff is a set of DVDs. Send the host a bunch of romance films, like When Harry Met Sally…, Sleepless in Seattle, and An Affair to Remember, or a group of Harrison Ford Flicks. Add a bag of microwave popcorn and it’s the perfect movie night. Don’t know their taste? Give a gift certificate to Netflix so they can choose their own!
