Perfect as a pre-dinner cocktail or on its own, this ginger martini will be a holiday hit with all your guests. We love incorporating ginger into our Christmas recipes, be it food or drink, since the spice is such a festive one. If you're looking for the perfect time to enjoy a ginger martini, the holiday season is certainly it.
Strong, spicy and garnished with a candied ginger, it is simple to make and easy to drink, but leaves quite the impression.
Ingredients:
3 ounces of vodka
Dash of simple syrup
Dash of lemon juice
1 ounce of chilled ginger tea
Candied Ginger for garnish
Ice
Directions:
An hour before serving, brew a pot of ginger tea and allow to cool by placing it in the refrigerator.
Then, just before serving, finely grate a knob of fresh ginger onto a side plate. You'll want enough grated ginger for each cocktail - about a pinch worth per drink you'll be planning to make.
To mix, add the pinch of ginger to a cocktail shaker along with the vodka, chilled ginger tea, simple syrup, lemon juice and ice.
Shake vigorously before straining into a martini glass. Garnish with a candied ginger before serving.
