A few well-placed and playful decorations are sometimes the best approach to holiday decorating; especially when they are staged in unexpected places, require a bit of DIY elbow grease and cost you mere pennies to make.
During Halloween, I cut a few halloween theme words out and place them on plain canvas or mirrors or even the walls thought the house. This holiday word art is a super inexpensive and fun way to add some spook to our home décor and I bet you'll love the idea as much as I do.
Collections of pretty paper fans in a pot or a vase are an excellent centerpiece or display around the Halloween holiday, too. Coordinated paper and embellishments are all you need to recreate this look in your own home.
Pair the two together over your Halloween mantle or other focal point in your home for a festive display that's glamorous, but also inexpensive.
Spooky Word Art Halloween Paper Decorations
The word “spooky” is provided in a ready-to-use template here, but if you would like to create your own word, just print it in a mirror image in the size you’d like.

You'll need:
Glitter card stock
Poster putty
Directions:
Print the template to the non-glitter side of the paper and cut out. I use poster putty to hang the letters, as it doesn’t remove the paint from the walls and doesn’t seem to lose its “stick”.
Frightening Paper Fan Halloween Decorations
Cluster a few of these assorted fans in a vase as a chic centerpiece or hang a few beside your spooky word art for a festive focal point above your Halloween mantle.

You'll Need:
12x12 Scrapbook Paper
Glue gun
Directions:
Cut the scrapbook paper for the smaller fan (black in this photo) into three 3 x 12inch strips. Accordian fold the three strips. The fans in this picture have ¼ inch folds. Glue or tape the pieces end to end to create a single long strip. Glue the two ends of the long strip together to create a circle. Gather the top edge of the folded paper to the center and press flat to create a circular fan. Place a healthy amount of glue into the center hole and hold until the glue is dry.
To create the layered fan look, make a larger fan using 4in x 12in strips of paper. To finish, use one of the printable circles to cover the glued center.
