It may sound odd, but hold off your judgment until you try this delicious spin on the margarita. The tartness of the blackberry and the lime play well off each other for a refreshing summer cocktail.
2 cups of blackberries
1/2 cup lime juice
3/4 cups white tequila
2 tablespoons granulated white sugar
1 teaspoon honey
lime wedge for garnish
Puree the blackberries in a blender. Then, force the puree into a sieve and discard the solid pieces.
Next, combine the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake well, or until beads of sweat form on the shaker.
Strain into a margarita tumbler rimmed with sugar.
(If you prefer your margarita frozen, combine the puree with the remaining ingredients and about 2 cups of ice in the blender.)
