This Christmas we wanted to start a new family tradition for our toddler. I fondly remember making a gingerbread house when I was younger, so I thought it’d be fun to do that with my family.

My only hesitation was that gingerbread houses can be a bit time consuming and tedious, especially the gingerbread baking part. Plus, I wanted us all to have our own individual houses to decorate. These miniature graham cracker houses were a great solution!
Supplies:
Icing Ingredients
3 3/4 Cups Powdered Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon Cream of Tartar
3 Egg Whites
Gingerbread House Ingredients
Graham Crackers
Crushed Candy Canes
Sharp Knife
Directions:
Step 1: Blend icing ingredients on low speed until ingredients are mixed together. Increase speed until icing is light and fluffy. Place in a decorating bag with a round tip.

Step 2: Using a sharp knife, cut 2 full sized graham crackers into gingerbread house shapes as shown in the photo.
Step 3: Break a graham cracker in half and then in half once again. Use a sharp knife to make one of the smaller pieces on inch long to use for the door.
Step 4: Break 3 additional graham crackers in half. You will need 5 halved pieces. Gather the pieces you will need to build your gingerbread house.

Step 5: Attach the house shaped crackers to a halved piece using icing, as shown in the photo.

Step 6: Use icing to attach 2 more halved pieces to make a box.

Step 7: Attach 2 halved pieces with icing to form a roof.

Step 8: Attach the door piece to the front of the house using icing.

Step 9: Using icing and sprinkles/candy to decorate your house. I used crushed candy canes and sparkling white sugar for the roof. Get creative!
