There are many brides out there who have the perfect date in mind to say their vows. For some, it is the fall or the spring. For others, Valentine's Day is ideal. You and your fiance may have your hearts set on Halloween as the day to tie the knot. If this is the case, there are many ideas for working around this holiday theme in your decorations, food, clothing, and invitations. How far you choose to take the Halloween theme is entirely up to you and your future spouse. Many people will call it a Hallo-Wedding.

Thinking up what decorations you are going to use for your Halloween wedding is a good place to start defining the theme you will use on your Halloween invitations. First thing that comes to mind are jack-o-laterns. What are your tastes in pumpkin carvings? You could opt for scary faces, fall scenes, monogrammed pumpkins, or those that include images of interlocked wedding bands. Candy is everyone's favorite part about Halloween, so you should be sure to include a food table with all the traditional favorites plus other seasonal confections like candy applies, fudge, and popcorn balls. Presented elegantly on beautiful trays, your dining selection can be perfect both in taste and appearance.

You may be deciding whether to incorporate costumes into the festivities or not. Since a marriage ceremony is serious, no matter how lighthearted the Halloween invitations may look, you are likely to choose not to take out your vows in anything other than a tux and wedding dress. Your ceremony can be less formal if you want, but it should still be dignified. However, by the time you reach the reception, it could be very fun to announce the arrival of the bride and groom in costumes. This gives you the best of both worlds.

For your Halloween invitations, you may want to use the traditional orange and black, but that does not mean the decorations at the reception need to be these two colors. For a more sophisticated look, introduce other autumn colors like rich gold, dark brown and deep red. Your invitations can be as quirky or serious as you want. If your Halloween wedding is such because you always wanted to get married in the fall, you may want something more serious. However, if you have a real passion for Halloween, something more casual and fun could be appropriate.
