Harvest Fruit and Nut Pesto on Cream Cheese and Leaf-Shaped Toast

A delicate morsel of Autumnal fruit, nuts, and cheese on leaf-shaped toast is just the right teaser to a Thanksgiving meal.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup finely chopped dried cranberries
  • 1/4 Cup finely chopped dried apricots
  • 1/4 Cup golden raisins
  • 1/4 Cup black currant raisins
  • 1/4 Cup chopped pistachio nuts
  • 1/4 Cup chopped pecans
  • 1/3 Cup finely minced fresh sage
  • 24 Slices white bread
  • 1 1/2 cups cream cheese

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Toss together cranberries, apricots, raisins, nuts, and sage in a bowl until combined. Set aside.
  • Use a maple leaf-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes from bread slices. Place on a baking sheet and toast for 4 minutes until light brown. Remove from oven and spread 1 tablespoon of cream cheese on each piece. Top with about 1 tablespoon of the fruit and nut mixture and serve immediately.

    Makes about 24 appetizers
