A glamorously haunted Halloween centerpiece is easier to create than you might think!
For a Halloween decoration drawn right out of that haunted Victorian home that's as Gothic as it is glamorous, try making this book centerpiece that's comprised of several items clustered together to create a small vignette.
One of the components is "spooky" books that were easily crafted using a very traditional method - wrapping books with printed paper.
You may remember creating brown paper book covers to protect your text books when you were in school. We take the same idea and make some gothic glam books to coordinate with our table setting. Just a few items from the craft store is all you need to get this project started.
Supplies
Hard back books
Coordinating scrapbook paper or gift wrap paper
Decorative sticker letters
Other decorative embellishments as needed
Directions
Begin by laying your paper flat and placing the open book on the paper. Cut out the paper to fit the top and bottom of the book, but longer on each end so they can fold over the hard cover about two or three inches.
Once you close your book the weight of the pages will hold the ends in place, or you can use a small amount of tape to secure it.
Use the sticker letters to create spooky book names like Ghost Stories, Tales From The Crypt, Black Magic, Magic Spells, Poisonous Potions, etc.
You can also use embellishments like we did to decorate the spine or the front of the book.
There is an array of scrapbooking materials you could use like mini frames, mini keys, gemstone adhesives, etc.
We also finished off one of our books with a spider web "book mark" that hangs down the side.
Spooky black bats provide lots of inspiration for a Halloween party.
Add some spook to girl's night this Halloween. From cocktails to favors, we've got ideas!
This family-friendly Halloween party means fun for all.
