Summer entertaining is all about ease. A perfect appetizer for an outdoor dinner party is Cavier and Homemade Creme Fraiche with Toast Tips. It is elegant and simple. My two favorite things!

Ingredients:

1 cup whipping cream

2 tablespoons buttermilk

caviar

chives for garnish

toast chips for dunking

Directions:

To make the Creme Fraiche mix 1 cup whipping cream with 2 tablespoons of buttermilk. Pour the mixture into a glass jar, cover tightly and shake to ensure that they are combined.

Then, let the jar stand at room temperature for 8 to 24 hours until it has thickened. Stir well and place in the refrigerator until you are ready to use to it.

On the night of your party simply spoon some creme fraiche into shot glasses, coat the top with a layer of cavier and garnish with a chive spear and toast tip for an easy and elegant appetizer for your guests to enjoy!
