The great thing about this dinner recipe idea is that it requires just a few ingredients, but is packed with flavor. And as if flavor weren't enough, this dish is quick and easy to cook as well; we whipped our pork chops up for dinner in a matter of 20 minutes - prep and cook time included!
Since you cook the chops, onions and Plum Amazins™ together in a skillet on a high heat with the honey and Teriyaki, this dish gets a delicious caramelized texture and flavor without you having to load it up with any additional sugar.
We love to pair this with a hearty side of couscous or brown rice!
Ingredients
4 pork cutlets
8 teaspoons honey
8 teaspoons Teriyaki sauce
2 small onions, sliced
1 cup Sunsweet® Plum Amazins™
salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
Directions
In a large skillet (we recommend cast iron if you have) heat your olive oil on medium-high.
Meanwhile, salt and pepper your pork chops to your liking. A light sprinkle of salt and a heavier sprinkle of pepper worked best for us. Then, on the first side you'll place down in the pan, spread a teaspoon of honey, then a teaspoon of Teriyaki sauce onto your chop.
When the oil has heated, add your onions. Toss for a minute or two, then add your chops with the honey Teriyaki side face down. Allow them to cook for 8 minutes on the one side without moving them. This will ensure a nice sear and caramelization.
Before you turn your chops to cook on the opposite side, sprinkle their tops with salt and pepper, and apply the honey and Teriyaki sauce.
Turn your chops and allow them to cook through for another 8 minutes or so. Add in the Plum Amazins™ at this point and toss with the onions. Every minute or so give the onions and plums a toss.
Once cooked, remove your chops from the pan and plate with the plum and onion mixture.
Enjoy!
