In our video, we show you the essential tips you'll need to plan a Cinco de Mayo party - and it all starts with your invitation. So give it a watch, then read on below for more tips and ideas!
Start with Festive Invitations
Invitations are essential to any party - even a casual fiesta at home. Send your guests an invite that let's them know what to expect. FineStationery.com has a really great assortment of paper invitations for Cinco de Mayo, but if you're running a bit late with planning, you can also send out a digital invite.
Whichever option you choose, pick out an invitation that communicates to your guests what the party is all about. This will also help you in your own planning process.
Once You've Got the Invite, Think Theme
Your invitation will guide your entire theme and planning process. We went with the margarita design from FineStationery.com because it was festive, colorful and made it clear to our guests we were hosting an informal fiesta complete with lots of margaritas, laid back decor and tasty bites.

Rather than spending a ton of time on shopping for decorations, we kept it simple. We found a couple of great margarita inspired bouquets from 1-800-Flowers.com to match our invitations and dress up our cocktail bar.
And no fiesta, especially this one, is complete without actual margaritas to sip! Rather than worry about mixing up an assortment of margs, do like we did to keep it easy - offer two.
Easy Cinco de Mayo Party Menu Tips

Use your margarita bouquets to inspire the cocktails at your Cinco de Mayo celebration. We went with a classic margarita on the rocks and a strawberry flavored margarita to match our bouquets.
When it comes to food, the possibilities are endless. Consider though, downsizing whatever you put on your menu and serve food tapas style. Though not a traditional Mexican-style of serving, tapas will allow your guests to sample a wider variety of flavors and recipes in a fun way.
Our pico de gallo recipe works well on simple toasted rounds, but also makes guacamole a little more interesting and can get piled high on everything from tacos to quesadillas.
