How To Invite Friends & Family To Help

Once you've chosen who you'd like to contribute to the scrapbook, send them a letter or email describing what you need. Here's a sample to get you started.Dear (name of friend or family member),

As you know, (birthday date) marks (birthday honoree's name) the (birthday year, i.e. 80th) birthday! (Birthday honoree's name) has touched all of our lives in some way and has always offered us (his/her) love and support. For (his/her) birthday I am putting together a collection of letters and photos from friends and family expressing our appreciation for (birthday honoree's name) presence in our lives.

I'd like to invite you to send me a brief note or letter, no more than one page in length, along with a photo of you and (birthday honoree's name) to include in a special scrapbook. I know it will be hard to contain your love and appreciation to such a small space, but it is necessary to allow everyone to contribute to the book. I hope to collect many letters, so I'm asking that everyone send theirs to me by (date you need the letters/photos by).

After (his/her) party, I plan to present (him/her) with this gift so (he/she) may know just how loved and appreciated (he/she) is! Thank you for your help with this gift. I know (birthday honoree's name) will love it!

Can't wait to hear from you!
