How-to Make a Baby Shower Diaper Cake

A themed diaper cake is a welcome addition to any baby shower. Use it as a fun centerpiece, and then gift it to the mother-to-be. 

Supplies

• diapers (32-40 depending on how large your cake is)
• small rubber bands
• twine or string
• paper doilies
• 1 or 2 rolls of ribbon
• hot-glue gun
• embellishments

Directions

Step 1: Roll each diaper and secure by wrapping with a rubber band. You could also use tape or ribbon.

Step 2: For the bottom layer, place approximately six diapers around one center diaper. Tie with twine, string or thin ribbon to hold in place. Tie approximately twelve diapers around the outside of these.

Step 3: Place a paper doily on top of the diapers.

Step 4: Repeat for the second and third layers making each one slightly smaller.

Step 5: Cut each ribbon to a length that wraps around each diaper layer.

Step 6: Wrap the widest ribbon around the center of each layer, covering the string. Tape or glue to secure. Place the thinner ribbon, if using, on top of the wide ribbon.

Step 7: Add embellishments. We added bows to the front of each row of diapers and a foam craft initial as a cake topper.
