How To Make Your Yard Feel Like Summer Camp

Decorations are one of the most exciting and fun parts of throwing a party. They help set the stage for the whole event.

The best part about a camping retreat party is that your yard will do most of the work for you! And the teepees will do almost all the rest. 

But if you are a decorator at heart, like me, you are probably looking to add just that little bit of extra embellishment to move the party atmosphere into high gear.

An easy way to this is with a little homemade fabric bunting. Just string it between a few trees like we did.

Then print out a welcome sign, a few activity signs and some favor tags to really make it feel like an event.

And to add to the outdoor-sy atmosphere try using natural wood bowls and wooden disks for all your table top presentations.

Wooden bowls work great for holding utensils and party foods that kids can serve themselves from.

The natural wood platters help to add a little camp flavor and are relatively inexpensive to boot - plus, they an be used all summer and into the fall.

I found my natural vessels at Target and the wooden disks were just cut from logs for me by a friend. Wooden disks are cute, versatile and basically free. You simply can't beat that!
