I love giving my unloved mugs and other dishware a new lease on life whenever I can. And better yet, I love finding unique dishes at the thrift store and making them my own with a bit of craftiness.
One of the easiest ways to do this is with ceramic purposed permanent markers and some ceramic dishware. It's super simple to transform an ordinary white dish into something representative of your individual style with little work, money or time to spare.
Repurposed ceramic dishware and serveware has proven to be one of the biggest assets in my hostess arsenal - they're inexpensive when found and bought individually at a thrift store, but can be customized and tailored to a dinner party or other celebration quite easily. Best of all, because you're the artist you can make everything as matched or unmatched as you'd like, creating a truly unique setting.

Supplies:
A variety of ceramic purposed permanent markers
White ceramic mugs
Directions:
Step 1: You want to make sure you wash and dry your ceramic well.
Step 2: When you're ready to get going, pre-heat your oven to 350F and gather up your permanent markers.

Step 3: Then, just decorate your ceramic using the markers - create whatever design you'd like! Whether that's highlighting some of the natural design like I did or even by writing quotes, messages or drawing little embellishments, make it your own.
Step 4: Once decorated you're happy with your new design, place your ceramic in the oven and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Then, remove the ceramic from the oven and place whatever dishes on a cooling rack until they return to room temperature before using or storing in your dish pantry for later use.
