Want to throw another BBQ without boring your friends? How many times can you eat the same old hamburgers and hot dogs? Spice things up with Jeanne Benedict's "Appetizer on a Stick" concept! Watch the video and see below for recipes & instructions.
As you saw above, in order to create "Appetizers on a Stick," you'll need wooden kebab skewers. But instead of filling them up with veggies and meat and then grilling them, you'll just put one item on each skewer, and have your guests do the hard work!
Start by cutting raw chicken and beef into small, bite-size pieces. Marinate them in your chosen vinaigrette--Jeanne suggests oil and garlic. Do the same for a selection of raw vegetables, like eggplant, zucchini, bell peppers, onions, potatoes, and even pineapple! Assemble your skewers on platters around portable flames, and wait for your guests to grill them up.
Meanwhile, you'll concoct two dipping sauces.
Pina Colada Dipping Sauce (for chicken)
Combine ingredients below and refrigerate until the party.
Mojito Mignonette Dipping Sauce (for beef)
Combine ingredients below and refrigerate until the party.
