I Love You Stand Up Valentine's Day Card

This Valentine's Day card takes inspiration from paper dolls with it's folded, cut-out message. It is great for Mom or Dad, who can proudly display it -- on a work desk, perhaps -- well beyond Valentine's Day.

Supplies

red or pink 12 x 12 cardstock
pencil
scissors

Directions

Step 1: Fold a sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock in half.

Step 2: Turn the paper with the fold at the top, and draw an I, heart shape and U. The image above shows an up close picture of the I. The message should stretch across the entire length of paper.

Step 3: Cutting through both layers of paper, cut out the letters and heart leaving them connected at a few points. The top of the I and U should remain folded. You can outline the shapes with a black marker, if desired.

Step 4: Cut two strips of red paper, and fold both ends in. Tape one end of each the bottom of the letters I and U.

Step 5: Make sure your card stands up. You can add a name or other decorations, as desired.
