If you're making a day out of a tailgating experience, you're going to need tailgating activities to keep you occupied in between firing up the grill and the start of the game. Try some of these tailgating activities as you count down to kick-off.
Tailgating Games and Activities
Play football Playing a quick game of tag football is almost a requirement when tailgating. It doesn't have to be a long or formal game with teams and scores, though. Simply tossing the ball with friends and running after a long pass is enough to get into the groove of the day.
Watch television It may seem strange to bring out the TV while you tailgate, but it really is a good idea. Look into the requirements for electric and cable hook-ups ahead of time, and then set up in a secure spot. You can catch pre-game shows and watch other games going on in the conference.
Paint faces Show your school spirit by painting logos and mascots on faces (or shirtless guys). Bring non-toxic paint from home, set up a couple of chairs and let the most artistic member of the tailgating group get to work.
Find activities Search your school's website for activities or take a walk around campus. Many colleges and universities around the country hold special events, such as pep rallies, TV broadcasts and children's areas specifically on game days.
