In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week 2012, we are celebrating these special people and honoring them in the best way possible. Teachers are passionate about education and go the extra mile to teach their students not only academics but life lessons that children will remember well into adulthood. Celebrate your child’s teacher with one of our ideas to make them feel special and loved during this year’s Teacher Appreciation Week.

A Way to a Teacher’s Heart is Through Cookies

Leave the apples to the doctors and bake a batch of these yummy “chalkboard” cookies for your favorite teach instead. Have your child personalize them with their own special message to their teacher.

Pencil In This DIY Gift Idea

Take a clear tall glass and place a rubber band around the middle. Insert in between the rubber band and glass number 2 pencils all the way around until the entire glass is covered. Cover the rubber band with a ribbon matching your school colors and you’ve got yourself the perfect DIY gift idea for teachers.

Write a Letter

A great way to get your child to practice writing and appreciate their teacher is by having him or her write a thoughtful letter or poem to the honored teacher. Help them with rhyming and punctuation and you’ll have a nice note to add to the vase.

Get your child involved and celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week!
