Strawberry drinks are always a hit with our friends, but there's one cocktail recipe that trumps them all. There's nothing quite as fabulous as a sweet shot, but when made and set inside a hulled out strawberry that can just be popped right in your mouth and enjoyed, you really have a hit on your hands.
If you're not interested in the spiked version of these guys, you can always feel free to replace the wine with cold water or lemon-lime soda. Either way, they make for a nifty addition to any party and will impress guests.
Ingredients:
1 box of fresh strawberries (around 12)
1 box of strawberry Jell-O
bottle of sweet white wine
water
Directions:
Wash and dry your strawberries, trim off the top, and then using a melon baller, gently scoop out the tops of each strawberry to create a round cavity and then place them top side up into an empty egg carton.
Using a box of instant Jell-O, empty the contents of the Strawberry Jello into a mixing cup and add 1 1/2 cups of boiling water (I used the packet that calls for 2 cups of boiling water, 2 cups of cool water).
Mix the boiling water and the Jell-O together until the gelatin is fully dissolved, and then add 1/2 cup of sweet white wine and blend before pouring them into your strawberries. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours before serving.
Serves:
about 12 shots
