Jute Wrapped Butterfly Christmas Tree Decoration

Deck the halls with a little something out of the ordinary this year, like jute wrapped butterfly Christmas trees. This year I’m decorating my home in a woodland theme, complete with terrarium ornaments and a squirrel welcome mat, for the holidays and I just love how these butterfly trees turned out!

These butterfly trees would also make for cute centerpieces for a woodland themed baby shower or birthday. If you aren’t a fan of butterflies, you could use ric rac or buttons to decorate your jute trees for a more traditional look. I plan on displaying my butterfly trees on a bed of moss for an extra woodland touch.

Supplies:

Jute

Paper Mache Tree Cone

Floral Butterflies

Scissors

Hot Glue

Directions:

Step 1: Starting at the bottom, wrap jute all the way up the paper mache tree cone, hot gluing the jute in place. Once you reach the top, cut off the jute and secure the end piece down to the top with hot glue. Take care not to touch the glue as you attach the jute, it’s hot!

Step 2: Attach floral butterflies to the jute wrapped tree using hot glue. If the butterflies have wire attached to the back for floral usage, cut off the wire before attaching to the tree.

Step 3: Display on a fireplace mantel or use as a centerpiece.
