Turn the T.V. off and get your kids in the kitchen with this kid-friendly craft for summer. Though the name might be a bit of a misnomer, these sweet treats do in fact look like classic summer popsicles - they just don't have a drop of ice cream in them.
While us adults have been reveling in the latest cocktail craze - boozy popsicles - we thought it'd be fun to let the kids in on the action sans alcohol with these colorful treats.
What's great about this crafty recipe is that you'll probably have the ingredients on hand, which is fantastic should you find yourself with an unexpected rainy summer day and bored children to entertain.
Supplies
Rice Cereal
Marshmallows
Butter
Popsicle Sticks
Chocolate
Wax paper
Sprinkles
Directions
Step 1: Make your rice cereal treats - same as you normally would. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the marshmallows and cook until they're melted. Add to your rice cereal and allow to set.
You want to make sure you make your treats thicker than normal - this will allow you to insert the popsicle stick more easily.
Step 2: While your treats set, melt your chocolate - the more colorful, the better.
Step 3: Once your treats have set, cut them into equal rectangle shapes. Mold the individual servings into popsicle shapes with your hands. Then, insert a popsicle stick into the bottom making sure to keep it in the center.

Step 4: Lay your pops onto wax paper and coat them with the melted chocolate. You'll make a big mess and will have to do this in shifts - let the top dry, flip over and do the back.
Step 5: After you've coated your pops, decorate - use your leftover chocolate to create lines, dots and designs to your heart's content and cover with sprinkles.
