Gyros are such a classic Greek food, but if you're intimidated by working with lamb, try this burger alternative. It incorporates the flavorful meat in a less intense way and will better allow you to cook to perfection. With the list below, you'll still get all the flavors you'd typically find in a gyro-style lamb meat and the cucumber sauce is the piece de resistance!

Ingredients:
For the Lamb Burger
1 pound ground lamb
1 tablespoon all-purpose Greek Seasoning
Pita bread pockets
Lettuce
Tomato slices
Crumbles Feta cheese
Cucumber Sauce
For Cucumber Sauce
4 ounces light sour cream
1/2 cucumber, peeled and grated
1 small garlic clove, minced
1/4 teaspoon dried dill
1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions:
For Burger
Combine ground lamb and Greek seasoning until well seasoned. Divide into 4 patties, shaping into ovals instead of rounds. Cook over medium heat until no longer pink inside, about 5-6 minutes each side.
Fill pita pocket with lamb patty and add lettuce, tomato, and cucumber sauce. Sprinkle feta cheese on top and enjoy.
For Cucumber Sauce
Drain and pat dry grated cucumber. Add to sour cream and combine in a small bowl.
Stir in remaining ingredients and cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours so flavors can blend.
