Leap Day babies technically only get to celebrate on their birthday once every four years, which means while their friends are turning 40, they are still celebrating their 10th birthday!

Since these “leapers” only get to celebrate their actual birth date once every 4 years, having a fabulous celebration is extra important! Celebrate Your “Fake” Age

You may joke that you’re only 10 years old at 40, but at your birthday party, it’s time to make that a reality. Host a birthday party around your fake age, and have some fun with it! Decorate using youthful colors and embellishments like bright party hats and obnoxiously loud blowers. Hang signs that say “Happy 10th Birthday” all over the walls and tie it together with a number 10(or appropriate number) piñata. It’ll give your friends a taste of how it feels to be young forever!

To make that magical number even more festive, turn it into an activity! For someone that is 10 going on 40, have them eat 10 cupcakes or take 10 shots. Well, 10 shots might end in a very sloppy night, so this idea would be better for someone a few leap years younger.

Besides being an extra day in February, Leap Day is surrounded by various myths and superstitions. So why not spice up your party by celebrating different superstitions and beliefs? Celebrate superstitions like the number 13,  black cats, rabbits feet, and horse shoes.

Play this fun activity at you leap day birthday party! In every fourth cupcake, bake a small chocolate ball (or something obvious your guests won’t choke on) into it. Any time a guest bites into a cupcake with the hidden chocolate ball, he or she will take a shot with the birthday girl/boy. Or, if you’re really trying to get the party going, make all of your guests partake in this special birthday shot. Cheers!
