More Party Ideas

Most of the action at any pool party takes place in the pool. Tailor pool games to the Little Mermaid theme, but also give kids time to dry off before eating or opening gifts, with an out-of-the-water activity. Try one of these birthday party activity ideas.

  • Hold an underwater treasure hunt for items such as swim goggles, flip-flops and play jewelry. Kids dive in to collect as many items as possible, just as Ariel searched for human-owned items in the Little Mermaid movie.
  • Make paper plate fish that look like Flounder. Cut a triangle shape out the side of a paper plate. Use this piece for the tail. Let each little girl paint the plate yellow and the tail blue. Glue pieces of blue tissue paper along the top and add googly eyes.
  • Play limbo using the Little Mermaid soundtrack. Cover an empty wrapping paper tube with glitter and tie paper streamers from each end.
