An Asian twist to a traditional classic, this Lychee Martini is smooth, slightly sweet and rather refreshing. The following makes one serving.

Ingredients

3 Ounces of Vodka
2 Ounces of Lychee Juice
Small splash of Vermouth
Fresh Lychee for garish
Ice

Directions

Place the ice, vodka, lychee juice, and vermouth into a cocktail shaker, then shake viperously for a minute to ensure that the contents are well mixed.

Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a fresh Lychee before serving.

What's a Lychee?

In case you're not familiar with a lychee, it's a tropical/subtropical fruit tree native to China. Fruit from the tree is mostly eaten fresh since it has a more delicate perfumed flavor, which is lost when canned or preserved.

The outside of a lychee fruit is a pinkish red rind that's a bit rough and inedible. The rind is removed quite easily, however, to reveal a sweet, translucent, white fruit.

So now, you know!
