Though it's been over two years since Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland hit the big screen, the movie continues to inspire so many theme parties - from birthdays to showers to holiday fests.
This Mad Hatter theme party Contributor Chris Nease put together is one of our favorites, especially when Halloween season rolls around. It's the perfect blend of spook, sweet, goth and pretty.
Complete with the usual icons from Lewis Carroll's classic story, Chris' Alice in Wonderland themed Halloween party blends the expected with a bit of the unexpected using a very Burton-esque style for this celebration.

The table at this party was set for the Hatter and the Queen of Hearts, who have seen better days. The Dormouse is now a black rat, and the Cheshire Cat is on his 9th life.

A red, bloody cocktail (or punch) is served in a test tube with the "drink me...if you dare" tag attached.

Not only do guests know this feast is for such dark characters as the Hatter and Queen of Hearts thanks to the place cards, they get a clear sign from the table's centerpiece. Two skulls dressed in all their Gothic glory bear the tell-tale symbols that Hatter and the Queen are the inspiration for this Halloween celebration.

Mimicking the "eat me" tags from the story and movie, Chris created more macabre looking printables to attach to the cookie display at her party.

Keys and clocks are placed for decorative touches throughout the party. From napkin ties to cupcake toppers, the two iconic symbols from the story add a touch of whimsy and fantasy to the space.
