If you're looking for ways to keep your kids busy this summer, a journal is a good start. A journal gives them a place to record their adventures, track their reading and store favorite photos. Get the journaling started by having each child embellish his or her own notebook.

Craft Glue Dots® Roll
Step 1: Use the Craft Glue Dots to affix your embellishments to the front of the journal. The flowers pictured here are actually felt iron-on patches; we placed one Glue Dot on the back of each and then attached them to the notebook.
Step 2: Affix the label in the same way -- you can either hand-write it or craft one on your computer. The label can also go inside the front cover. Feel free to add extra embellishments and decorate your journal with whatever you like!
Look for slightly three-dimensional pieces that can easily be attached to the cover of the notebook; take your kids to the craft store or the dollar store and let them choose whatever strikes their fancy. The Glue Dots are easy to use, mess free and non-toxic, which makes them perfect for little crafters, but also super strong and capable of supporting heavier embellishments.
The kids can also use the Craft Glue Dots to secure items inside their journal -- movie tickets, postcards, photos, etc.
Encourage them to be as creative as possible, both with the outside and the inside of their summer journal! The idea is to capture as many great summer memories inside as possible.
