Make An Easy Umbrella Centerpiece for your Bridal Shower

Melissa Klein

Run with the "shower" theme! The umbrella may be typical, but making this centerpiece on your own transforms it into an original piece of art that reflects the bride-to-bes personality.

Supplies

Paper Parasol
Colorful Vase or Basket
Styrofoam
Metallic Markers
Decorative Trinkets (that resemble the bride)

Directions

Use a container you have as a base for the piece. An ideal container could be a colorful flower vase or a small basket.

Place styrofoam at the bottom of your container to create a sturdy base in which to stand the umbrella. Opt for a paper parasol for this craft-- it will make a statement without overwhelming the table and is easy to decorate.

After securing the bottom part of the parasol in the base, conceal the foundation by stuffing your container with tissue paper.

Finally, decorate the top of the umbrella using the brides personality as inspiration. Is she the go-to-gal for advice? Use metallic markers and jot down her well-known words of wisdom. If shes a gardener glue silk versions of her favorite flowers to the top of the umbrella. Get creative!
