Make Sure Your Stationery Matches

More Party Ideas

Matching stationery? What? I mean it's not as if we're looking to make some fashion statement now, are we? You know, match the shoes with the handbag or the tie with the dress shirt.

Still, your stationery, which includes business cards, address labels and postcards, in addition to letterhead and envelopes, needs to have a consistent matching look and feel.

Your Stationery Conveys Your Brand

Your stationery is an extension of your brand – whether it's a product, service or you, yourself.

And, one of the rules to successful branding is having a consistent look and feel in the way that the brand and related logos, taglines, etc., are portrayed and communicated – whether it be in brochures and sales material, letterhead and envelopes, invoices and, yes, business cards, address labels and postcards.

Be Your Own Matchmaker

Creating a matching look for your stationery has never been easier and there are web sites where you can design the look and feel you want for your brand; a look and feel that will be consistent whether on your printed business cards, address labels or even on premium items like hats, T-shirts and pens!

You can start by choosing from hundreds of design templates, which you can then customize with a photo or logo, or, if you already have a design or want to create one yourself, you can upload that to use. Regardless, the step-by-step process is a breeze and, in the end, all your stationery will have that consistent look and feel including the font, color and layout.

Stand Out & Keep It Simple

While having matching stationery is key to consistently portraying and communicating your brand, it's still important to keep it simple. So, here are some tips to keep in mind:

1) Don't use too many fonts and don't use any font that may be difficult to read.

2) Have the font size large enough to be clearly read.

3) Scale the size of the fonts to reflect the type of item it's on – like a postcard vs. letterhead.

4) If you want to use a bright color for the lettering or some border, make sure it "plays" on all the different types of stationery you plan to have.

Game, Set, Match!

Remember that the goal is to win business and not just to have a pretty matching "outfit". So, begin by thinking about what your brand is all about and then develop – either on your own or with the help of some design templates you can find online – the look and feel that will best communicate your brand. And then…have fun and play!

As I mentioned, it's easy. And, on an important note for all businesses, it's economical. Simply select the different types of stationery you need, whether it's letterhead and envelopes and/or business cards, address labels and postcards. Or, choose from one of the several packages that are offered to save even more.

It's a Match!

So, match up your stationery. It will consistently communicate your brand and make a positive impression on your current customers as well as on prospective ones. After all, one of things that they want is a business partner that's consistent! Wishing you a happy matching!
