Instead of simply passing around bubbly in a glass, consider serving a special sip at your New Year's Eve party. Send out the old and bring in the new with a signature sip they'll add a sophisticated flair to your celebrations this year. Celebrations.com Expert Mark Addison has three cocktail recipes that embellish a glass without a ton of added work. They're ideal for smaller parties at home.
Marinated Cherries (marinate these the night before in lemon vodka)
Add a couple of marinated cherries with 1 tablespoon of cherry juice to a champagne flute. Using a Muddler, muddle the cherries a bit in the juice.
Next, add a dash of Limoncello, about two tablespoons or so, then top that off with Prosecco. You'll want to fill the glass.
Finish off with a fresh lemon peel for garnish!
Fresh pomegranate juice
Fresh pomegranate seeds (pink pebbles)
Fresh grapefruit juice
Edible Pink flower
Using a pitcher, start with a combination of fresh grapefruit juice, pomegranate juice, a dash of Elderflower Liqueur, and Vodka. There aren't any specific measurements here - mix your ingredients depending on how you prefer them and how much you'll need.
Fill a glass with about 2 ounces of the mixture, then top off with Brut Champagne.
Add a spoonful of pomegranate seeds (for pink pebbles effect), then garnish with an edible pink flower.
Blood Orange Champagne Float
Blood Orange Sorbet
Fill a glass slowly with the Brut Champagne so as not to allow it to overflow. Mix in a small scoop of Orange Sorbet that is a bit melted. Your mixture will fizz - allow it time to settle down. Once it's settled, finish by garnishing with a slice of the blood orange and enjoy!
