A kids birthday party isn't complete without birthday cake. A must have for any Max & Ruby party is Max's Worm cake. This birthday cake recipe is easy to make and the kids will enjoy making it with you just as much as they do eating it!
Ingredients
2 boxes of chocolate cake mix and ingredients to make
2 boxes of chocolate pudding and milk
chocolate cookies crumbled
Gummy worms
Red Dots
Directions
I made the chocolate pudding as directed except I reduced the amount of milk from 6 cups to 5 cups, making a thicker pudding which worked nicely to layer between cakes and frost the cake.
Prepare cake mix according to directions. Bake cake in 8 or 9 inch round pans. (2 boxes of cake mix will yield 4 cake pans).
Once cooled, place the bottom cake layer on the plate you will serve the cake on.
Stack all four layers on top of each other and put a thin layer of pudding in between each layer.
Cut the edges off top layers to create a mountain shape. Apply the pudding to the exterior of the cake.
Cover the entire cake with crushed chocolate cookies.
I used chopsticks to make holes in cake then stuck gummy worms in cake. Finish by putting the Red Dots on top.
