Mom & Baby Owl Cupcakes

For this owl themed baby shower, we made owl cupcakes in two sizes to symbolize "mom" and "baby." These are super easy to make and starts with a boxed cake mix or your own favorite recipe.

Ingredients

Prepared cupcakes in regular size and mini size
Dark chocolate frosting
Chocolate and/or Vanilla sandwich cookies
Mini chocolate sandwich cookies {mini Oreos or mini Nutter Butters}
Bag of Regular M&M's
Mini chocolate chips

Directions

Frost each cupcake with the dark chocolate frosting.

Pull sandwich cookies apart carefully, saving the cream-filled side. Lay cookies on top of frosted cupcake, cream side up. Use your left over cookies without the frosting to make cookie truffles!

Pick out pairs of green or brown M&Ms for eyes and put a dab of frosting on the side with the "m" and then place it on top of the cookie.

Cut an orange M&M in half and place one half flat-side down for the beak.

For the mini cupcakes use the mini cookies and mini chips for the eyes.
