Mother's Day Craft for Kids: Bouquet of Handprints

For a variation on handprint crafts, give Mom a show of hands. Instead of a work of art, use handprints to create a pseudo flower arrangement. The addition of little notes written on each hand transforms these nonperishable flowers into an extra-special treat.

Supplies

  • Colorful paper
  • Scissors
  • Pens or colored pencils
  • Small dowels, wooden skewers, or straws (to use as stems)
  • Green craft paint (optional)
  • Small vase, flower pot or bowl
  • Craft glue
  • Florists foam

Directions

1. Trace and cut out each childs handprints using different colors of paper. Make as many as you want.

2. Ask kids to write one thing he or she loves about Mom on each handprint.

3. Paint dowels or skewers with green paint, if using.

4. Glue handprints to the front of stems.

5. Put florist foam in the vase and insert flowers. Place decorative grass or candies around the base of the flowers to add the florist foam.
