New Year's Eve Party Poppers

Make DIY party poppers out of toilet paper rolls for a New Year’s Eve party. These poppers are easy and inexpensive to make, which makes them perfect for a large batch of party favors! If you want to fit more candy and confetti in your poppers, you don’t have to halve the toilet paper rolls, but I like the look of the mini poppers.

Try making these with different color combinations or even glitter paper. You could save the star punch remnants from the paper wrapper to use as confetti inside of the poppers as well - nothing goes to waste!

Display your party poppers in large vases for guests to pick up on their way into your party or hand them out right before midnight so they can toss the confetti and candy in the air as the clock strikes midnight. These fun favors are sure to make for a memorable start to 2013!

Supplies:

Toilet Paper Rolls (halved)

Black Tissue Paper

Gold Cardstock

Martha Stewart Punch Edge Stars

Black Ribbon

Hot Glue

Paper Trimmer or Scissors

Candy & Confetti

Directions:

Step 1: Cut your toilet paper rolls in half and fill with candy and confetti. If using the remnants from the craft itself, skip to Step 3 and hold your gold wrappers to the side.

Step 2: Fold a sheet of black tissue paper in half and wrap a halved tissue paper roll inside, securing the ends with ribbons.

Step 3: Cut a 2 inch strip of gold paper per popper and punch a star design on the edges with a Martha Stewart Edge Punch. Attach around the tissue paper covered toilet paper roll with hot glue.

Step 4: Hand out to your guests as a party favor and start the new year with a treat!
