Non-Traditional Valentines Day Idea

The most romantic idea I have ever heard of is the one I practice with my partner. And it's also a cheap way to celebrate Valentine's Day!

Don't want to follow the crowd? Tired of obligation instead of real love? Feel like you are just getting ripped off?

My partner and I have a standing agreement - we must each do one thoughtful thing for each other, but.... we are not allowed to spend any money!

The gift is the thoughtful gesture.....  whether it be to make each other feel nice, make life easier, take a break from the routine or just to put a smile on their face.

Here are some simple ideas - pick a wild bunch of flowers, give a massage, do all the household chores for a day (role reversal), instead of a meal at the table put a blanket down in the backyard and have a picnic, stargaze together, walk on the beach, go skinny-dipping, etc. Remember when you first started dating and you stayed up all night talking and laughing - it didn't cost a cent, but they are the best memories of your life.

I feel so good when my partner carries out their thoughtful gesture for me because I know they have put genuine thought into choosing an idea that would make me happy.... They didn't just buy flowers and a generic card because they felt obligated!
