We recently announced the winners of our 2012 Celebrations Cupcake Crown, which if you were too busy drooling over the entries to realize the winners were as follows: In first place, the delicious sweet tea vodka cupcakes from Susie Anderson, in second place a batch of tooth cupcakes from Erica, and coming in at third were Natalie Corres' ice cream cone sundae cupcakes. Our readers did a great job picking some amazing cupcakes as winners, but we have some favorites of our own that we wanted to give some love to.
And since there could really only be one winner of the cupcake crown, we'll take this chance to give an honorable mention to some of the amazingly creative cupcakes who may not have won the crown, but still won our hearts (and taste buds) over!
Some of our favorite get points for beauty, while others get points for creativity in the build and ingredients list. We love getting unique with our dessert recipes, and are so thrilled that our readers have just as much fun messing around with recipes that may seem a little less traditional. Sadly, there's too many cupcakes and not enough time to try them all, so for now - we'll stick to staring to photos of these sweet gems for hours. And really, after a few hours of staring at photos of frosting you can't help but get a whiff of vanilla in the air.
Did your favorites make it to our list?! Or did your favorite go on to win the crown? Our incredibly talented readers sure do know how to whip up a batch of tasty cupcakes, which we look forward to taste testing in the future!
