Paint a Flower Pot

This craft is kid-friendly, earth-friendly and wallet-friendly! Watch a spring flower take bloom in a pot decorated by your child - beauty inside and out.

Supplies

pencil
organic paint set
plain plant pots
flower seeds

** You can substitute plant pots for tupperware containers, just make sure to poke holes in the bottom for drainage.

Directions

1. Have your child map out the design of his/her pot on piece of plain paper first. This is a great opportunity to get their creative juices flowing and will lessen the amount of mistakes when using the organic paint.

2. Take your child's preferred design and sketch it onto the actual pot with a pencil.

3. Assist him in tracing over his design with organic paint. Allow one color to dry completely before using another color on top of it. Paint will dry fastest in direct sun or near a vent.

4. After the paint dries, fill the painted pot with soil (good old backyard dirt works fine - no need to buy the soil) and have your child place 6-8 flower seeds into the soil.

5. Water the seeds daily and sprout a spring flower!
