The caipirinha is a cousin to the more popular mojito, and is equally tasty. This recipe uses passionfruit puree for a delicious fruity flavor.

Ingredients
1/2 lime cut into wedges
1 fluid ounce simple syrup (equal parts sugar & water, heated until sugar dissolves; cool)
2 fluid ounces Cachaca (Brazilian liquueur)
1 fluid ounce passion fruit puree
1 handful of crushed ice
Directions
Place all but 1 lime wedge in bottom of an old-fashioned glass with a little bit of crushed ice and simple syrup.
Muddle all ingredients together until well blended.
Fill the glass with crushed ice; pour in the Cachaca, the remaining simple syrup and the passion fruit puree.
Shake vigorously and serve with a straw and the remaining lime wedge.
