Get crafty this Christmas with these beautiful and unique pasta, angel ornaments. This is a great activity to make when the kids have a snow day, or on a cold winter, December day. Make a warm, spicy cup of apple cider or a decadent cup of hot chocolate and get lost in a world full of crafts!
Supplies
One small bag of large, straight tube pasta
One small bag of small sized elbow pasta
18 gauge gold colored wire (you can also buy regular wire and use a gold paint pen)
cream colored paint & brush
One small bag of bowtie pasta
One inch diameter wooden or plastic balls in a light color
Superfine red and black pen
One small bag of tightly curled doll hair in whatever hair color youd like your angels to have.
Strong craft glue
Directions
First, assemble the body of your angel. Glue the round one-inch ball on top of a large straight piece of tube pasta. The ball is the angels head and the tube is body.
Next, add arms by gluing one piece of elbow pasta to each side of the angels body.
Add wings by wrapping the wire around the middle of a bowtie pasta piece and twisting it so its tightly secured to the piece of pasta. This is where the wire the angel will hang from on the tree, so make sure it is long enough to do the job.
Glue the bowtie pasta with wire attached to the back of the angel to create wings.
After all the glue is dry, paint the angel with the cream paint and allow to dry.
Using the red pen, draw on a mouth in the shape of an O for a singing angel. Or, simply draw on a smile.
Using the black pen, draw eyes on the angel. For singing angels, you can draw on half crescents to represent closed eyes.
Apply a good layer of craft glue to the top of the angels head and glue on the curly hair.
Finally, use the gold wire to create a little round halo. You can attach the halo onto the gold wire the angel is hanging from so it appears as if the halo is floating above the angels head.
Create a whole parade of angels to hang around the tree, or to decorate a table with.
