Peach Serrano Pepper Chutney

More Party Ideas

Peaches are probably one of the most adaptable fruits - they are easily combined with both sweet and savory flavors.

When combined with a hot pepper, such as Serrano peppers, the peach flavor is really kicked up a notch. It’s sweet and spicy and adds a good kick to any dish.

But don't say we didn't warn you - be careful when enjoying this chutney, it’s a hot one!

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups Sugar
1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
1 teaspoon Nutmeg
4 Large Peaches, Diced
6 Serrano Peppers, Finely Diced

Directions

Stir together the sugar, vinegar, and nutmeg in a medium saucepan. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil.

Add the diced peaches and Serrano peppers and stir to combine. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the sauce thickens and the peaches have softened and released all their juices, about 1 hour.

Transfer the chutney to a mason jar, sealing the top. Place the jar in boiling water for 10 minutes. Remove from the water and place in the refrigerator to cool.

The chutney is ready to use when it has cooled to room temperature or below.  Lasts up to 2 weeks when kept in a sealed jar in the refrigerator!
