An easy way to customize a party of any sorts, and particularly those with foods you're most likely to walk around with or hold onto to munch, is with a fun "treat" presented in a handmade cone.
Perfect for sleepover parties with kids who want to munch on popcorn while watching a flick, or for showers, birthdays and holiday parties where people most often will look for food to mingle with, this easy paper container is super inexpensive, looks great and is really convenient. Kids and adults alike will especially love them if customized to fit with the party theme or if personalized with their names.
We used pink and white cardstock for our treat cones, but you should use whatever colors or patterns work with your party. Same goes with the embellishments.
Supplies
Pink cardstock (Bazzill)
White cardstock (The Paper Company)
Gemstones (Mark Richards)
Ribbon (May Arts)
Die cutting machine (Silhouette)
Glue Lines®, Micro Glue Dots® and Pop Up Glue Dots®
Directions
Find a cardstock to match your party theme.
Trim the cardstock so that it is shaped more like a square. Then, holding it up so that it looks like a diamond, bring the two side corners together and bend one over the other so that the sheet of paper takes on a cone shape.
Secure the edges to hold the cone shape with Glue Lines.
Use the die cutting machine to personalize the cones. We like the idea of adding names of guests and themed embellishments to the cones. Attach these with Pop Up Glue Dots to give designs more of a 3-D look.
If using gemstones, attach with Micro Glue Dots so they won't pull at the cone and fall off, and for ribbon adhesion work with the same Glue Lines as you did for the cone itself.
