When choosing a bar or club to host your party, keep in mind a few things to keep everything managable.
Approximate Number of guests
Write out a guest list of everyone you want to invite, and then estimate that a small percentage wont show up. The standard percentage that wont show is about 15%.
Size of the Venue
Make sure that the size of the venue matches with the number of people on your guest list. If you prefer a large venue, see if the bar or club offers a smaller, contained area where you can host your party.
Drink Options
Many places will insist on serving their own alcohol. However, you can save a great deal of money by finding a venue that will let you bring your own outside alcohol for a small fee.
If you find a venue that allows you to do this, hit your local Sams Club or Costco to buy large bottles in bulk.
Food Options
Another great way to personalize your party and save money is by finding a venue that allows you to bring in outside catering.
If you can't bring in outside catering, either pick a late-night place nearby for friends to meet up at after the party for a quick bite, or make sure that the venue serves good food!
