One of my favorite flavor combinations is sweet and spicy, and this burger really shines in that category.
Diced jalapenos are stuffed inside of each burger patty, and then the burgers are topped with pepper jack cheese and thick slices of pineapple rounds.
The sweetness of the pineapple compliments the spiciness of the jalapenos and the pepper jack cheese perfectly. And dont worry if you dont like too much spice, these burgers use spice more for flavor than heat.
1 1/2 pounds Ground Beef
2 Jalapenos, Finely Diced
Salt and Pepper, to Taste
8 Slices Pineapple Rounds, Fresh or Canned
8 Slices Pepper Jack Cheese
4 Hamburger Buns
Heat the grill to medium-high temperature.
Divide the ground beef into 4 round balls. Make a hole in the middle of each ball and place about 1 tablespoon of diced jalapenos into the center. Carefully shape the balls into flat patties, about 2 1/2-inches in diameter and 3/4-inch thick, being sure to keep the jalapenos in the center of the patties. Season the patties with salt and pepper.
Place the patties on the grill. Cook the patties until they reach desired internal temperature. With 5 minutes left in the cooking process for the burgers, place the pineapple rounds on the grill and cook until warm. Right before the burgers are finished cooking, place 2 slices of pepper jack cheese on each patty and allow the cheese to slightly melt.
Assemble the jalapeno burgers and 2 slices of pineapple rounds in between the hamburger buns.
